The University of Alabama Academic Quizbowl Team is proud to announce

The tournament will be using NAQT IS-68 for the CC division, and a mirror of PARFAIT III for the university division. The entry fee is $80 per team entered. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with play starting at 9:30. Lunch will be provided, as well as trophies for the top teams and individuals. Is this definitely open to just CC's, or would novice 4-year college teams be allowed as well?

Novice meaning freshmen and sophomores only or players in their first or second years of collegiate competition?

UPDATE:

The CC division shall be using NAQT IS-68. But recently we were able to secure the rights to mirror Princeton's Parfait III. So the 4 year division shall be run using those surely excellent questions. Thanks to Guy and Princeton for the use of their set. If anyone has more questions then email us at [email protected].

Also, since we are using these question the tournament is now going to be open to ALL students, undergrad. and grad.

Didn't you guys already use IS-68 for Ragnarok? Are you expecting a completely different batch of teams than those that went to Ragnarok? Just curious. I just thought it was kind of weird that you'd be using the same question set for two tournaments in the same semester.

Oh yeah, and if I can convince the guys to come over for the PARFAIT III mirror, then we'll come.

What's the field look like for the PARFAIT mirror? I have no idea if we'd even be able to field any teams, but depending on who else will be there, I'm sure we'll consider it...

We haven't talked about it too much yet, but the initial response of people seemed to indicate we'll probably bring a team or two.

Sadly, the same applies to Vanderbilt. I was hoping to make it down, but no one shared my sentiment.
