LIT West Coast Online Mirror hosted by Stanford

Post by warum »

Stanford will be hosting an online mirror of Longhorn Invitational Tournament (LIT) on October 24, 2020!
The tournament will start at 9 AM Pacific time and have 9 rounds, lasting approximately until 5:30 PM.

You may read more about the set here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22780.

This is a closed mirror. No open teams or chimera teams are allowed. Any team must be made up of students who are either currently attending a single college/university/HS or were attending the same same college/university as of March 1, 2020 and have since graduated. This means that if you graduated from one college this spring and are currently attending a different one, you have the option to play for either school. Note that the "recent graduate" rule does not apply to recent HS graduates.
This mirror is also limited to schools in the following states: WA, OR, CA, AZ, NV, ID. You don't have to be currently physically located in one of those states to play, as long as you are enrolled in a school located there.

To register, please email me (Natan Holtzman) at [email protected] with the following information:
- School name
- Number of teams you will be bringing
- The names of any staffers you plan to provide
- A contact email and phone number for communications

The price structure is as follows:
Base fee: $90 ($50 minimum)
Approved staffer discount: -$20 per staffer
New to quizbowl discount: -$40 (as per ACF Fall rules, this means "schools that did not send a team to any regular collegiate academic tournament (not counting exclusively novice tournaments) since September 2019, and which have no players who competed in non-novice collegiate tournaments during that same period.")
Shorthanded team discount: -$30 for teams with only 1 or 2 players

Please reach out to me with any questions at [email protected].

We're looking forward to the tournament!

Video will be required in this tournament. If a player has connectivity issues during the tournament they may be given an exception to the requirement at the staff's discretion

A list of registered teams is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0
(although some teams may not have decided their roster yet).

There are 16 teams signed up. We are closing the field for now. Any teams who still wish to sign up can still contact us; your team will be placed on a waitlist. If we can find enough staffers we may be able to expand the field and take teams off the waitlist.

UC Berkeley A won this tournament with a 9-0 record. In second place (and the top-placing high school) was Mission San Jose, and UCLA took third place.

Thank you to Natan and all the staffers for hosting an extremely well-run and enjoyable event! I'm looking forward to attending more events put on by Stanford.
