Oxford Open Tournament Atlantic Mirrors 2019

Post by frasier »

OOT is running again in the UK in February and we are offering mirrors of it from the end of March onwards. The set is regular difficulty, with a focus on easier answerlines in the science distribution due to the field it is played on in the UK. The set will be Americanised, hopefully with the help of an American editor (PM me if you would be willing to help with this, we can discuss payment and other arrangements) or an experienced set of British writers who have written for the American circuit in the past. There will be no questions on cricket, Beeching or Rutland, we promise.

The distribution of the tournament is as follows:
1/1 Biology
1/1 Physics
2/2 Chemistry and Other Science (slanted towards 'other')
1/1 British Literature
1/1 Anglophone Literature
1/1 European Literature
1/1 British/World/Miscellaneous Literature
1/1 History up to 1000 CE
1/1 History 1000-1500 CE
1/1 History 1500-1900 CE
1/1 History 1900-Present
[History will have a temporal distribution as its emphasis, but will also have an even spread British/European/World/Misc]
1/1 Visual Fine Arts
1/1 Auditory Fine Arts
1/1 Other Fine Arts
3/3 Thought, including Religion, Philosophy, and Social Science (e.g. Law, Politics, Economics, Linguistics, etc.), but NOT Myth.
1/1 Geography
1/1 Miscellaneous

Note the slightly different distribution, especially in the RMPSS area.

Mirror fee for this tournament is $40 per team. PM me if you want you want to mirror set.

Just a reminder that this set is available for mirroring. If there's sufficient interest, it will be Americanized. The reviews for it this year (if people don't mind me saying it) were pretty good and I think people would have fun playing it. It's definitely the most "normal" quizbowl set ever produced in Britain.

Hi, would love to mirror this event and have some questions about it. I've emailed but haven't received a response yet. Could someone let me know what the best contact info would be to get those questions answered? Thanks!
