Waterloo Undergraduate Tournament, Nov 8th

Post by Deepika Goes From Ranbir To Ranveer »

The University of Waterloo is pleased to announce we will be hosting an undergrad-only tournament on the 8th of November, 2015. The questions used will be NAQT Collegiate Novice Series #150C, as described here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17863.

Teams must be composed of undergraduate players representing the same institution. Additionally, since this is a novice-outreach tournament, only ONE D2-ineligible player may be on a single team. However, we will consider requests for exemptions to these rules.

The base fee for this tournament is $120. Discounts offered as below :

Team Base Fee : $120
Buzzer discount : -$10
(Proficient) Reader discount : -$20
Shorthanded team discount : -$20 per missing player
Distance discount : -$10 for a one-way distance greater than 100 miles
Highschool discount: -$20

MC 4059 will be serving as HQ. You know where that is. Ming-Ho Yee will be serving as TD.

After the round robin, Toronto and Waterloo were tied with 6-2 records. Aayush (Waterloo) was the top scorer.

In the one-game final, Waterloo defeated Toronto to win the tournament. Congratulations! Final stats are here.

Thanks to our club exec, Aayush and Faith, for handling the administrative details, Kira, Aaron, and Isaac for staffing, and all the players for attending and helping with scorekeeping during their bye rounds.

I would like to thank Ming-Ho for directing the tournament, Kira, Aaron, and Faith for moderating, and to everyone else for helping to make this tournament so interesting, fun, and enjoyable.
