The wildcard application for the 2016 ICT is now available. Our deadline for consideration is Monday, February 8, 2016. As usual, ICT wildcards should be limited to those teams who find it difficult or impossible to attend SCT due to travel costs (plausible examples might be: "we are one of the handful of teams affected by the cancellation of the Northwest SCT," "we are a British team who wishes to play the 2016 ICT," etc.)

Does registering a team for standby affect that team's place on the ordinary waitlist?

No. The same team may simultaneously exist on both the waitlist and the standby list.

Naming brackets after serial killer suspects and Ted Cruz sure was a decision.

Naming brackets is the only fun that a TD is allowed to have and we should support them no matter what.

Is there any possibility that someone will be live streaming/blogging/tweeting the final like for HSNCT?

also nah

Like, if some individual school did this, I probably wouldn't complain because it's one kid at one school and whatever.

But it's kinda screwed up to name brackets after suspected serial killers in the first place, and it's certainly messed up for NAQT to be doing this given their place in quiz bowl.

Kinda screwed up to call people serial killers who have never been charged with killing a single person.

Not to break up the serial killer chat, but the ending of this tournament looks wonderful
Considering the final round of matches has Chicago (10-2)vs Michigan (11-1), Stanford (10-2)vs Yale(10-2), Maryland(10-2) vs Columbia (7-5), and Penn (7-5) vs MIT (6-6).

The finals scenario's include:

Michigan and Columbia win -->Michigan advantaged final vs the winner of Stanford/Yale
Michigan and Maryland win -->Michigan advantaged final vs winner of tiebreaker between Maryland and Stanford/Yale
Chicago and Columbia win -->Three way tie between Chicago, Michigan and Stanford/Yale
Chicago and Maryland win -->Four way tie for first place with Michigan, Chicago, Maryland and Stanford/Yale all at 11-2

I for one, never though I'd see a single elimination playoff at a quizbowl tournament, but that seems decently likely now with the top 5 so close

[Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 4 way tie for first is resolved through 1v4,2v3 followed by one game final of the winners, right?]
