Michigan Fall Tournament at Carleton (10/26/13)

Post by Copperboomer »

Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the Canadian mirror of the Michigan Fall Tournament. It will take place on October 26th, in Ottawa.

This tournament is open to undergraduates and high school students. Graduate students are allowed to play. Teams must be made up of players from the same school.

We are capping the field at 10 teams.

The difficulty of the questions will be in-between ACF Fall and Regionals.

The fees are as follows:

Cost:
Base Fee: $120
Distance Discount: (200 kilometres or more one way) -$15
(Working) Buzzers: -$10 (maximum of 2 per team)
Dedicated Reader: $-20
Scorekeeper (can rotate but must be available every round): -$10
High School Team: -$15
Packet by Sunday, September 1st: -$25 (for more information on packet submission, please see original post which is linked to below)
Minimum Fee: $50

It is on October 26th, which is the day before Ottawa University hosts their mirror of PennBowl.

We are running these two tournaments on the same weekend to minimize traveling costs for teams.

And those two teams will hopefully stay for Penn Bowl (to be announced).

McGill will likely send two teams to this. If we don't I can run the control room. If we do, I can still run the control room

If anyone was planning to use the O-Train to get to Carleton for this tournament, please note that it will be closed and you will have to use alternate public transit routes: http://www.octranspo1.com/go_mobile/o_t ... nd_closure

This closure won't affect the Oct 5 novice tournament.

This was good. Alberta S beat Alberta T in the finals, possibly because I pronounced a question wrong. As usual I was impressed with how good the teams are. Thanks to Isuri and Carleton for running good tournaments.
