2013 NAQT SCT: February 9

NAQT is pleased to announce the hosts of its 2013 Sectional Championship Tournaments.
The Region 1 (MIT) and Region 2 (Buffalo) SCTs have been postponed to February 16th due to inclement weather.
Region 1: MIT (February 16th)
Region 2: Buffalo (February 16th)
Region 2 (Canada): McMaster
Region 3: Delaware
Region 5: Tennessee-Knoxville
Region 6: Central Florida
Region 7: Ohio State
Region 8: University of Illinois at Chicago
Region 10: Minnesota
Region 11: Truman State
Region 12: Texas A&M
Region 14: Washington
Region 15: Berkeley
Contact information for each site is available on
naqt.com.

The travel policy for the 2013 SCT is the same policy used in previous years, specifically:
1. Teams may always attend the SCT site nearest to their home campus.
2. Teams may always attend the SCT site in their own ACUI region (
details)
3. A school may send teams to only one SCT site.
Exceptions to the above rules will be considered by NAQT and ACUI on a case-by-case basis; if your team faces an unusual travel situation not covered above, please email us (sct [at] naqt.com) with details.

Does NAQT not expect teams to register online for SCT anymore? If they do, when will the links be up for online registration?

Yes, SCT registration will take place online this year. Expect registration to be activated as soon as the last two sites are announced.

Registration for the 2013 SCT is
now open. (Please note that the list of SCT sites is still not final; we expect to announce New England and Upper Midwest sites in the near future.)

I'm not sure if this is reflected in the actual registration process, but for
sites which offer a travel discount, the cost appears to be +$10 for every 200 miles, rather than -$10.

As a side note, it appears registration for the Washington site has already been closed.

According to the NAQT website, the sites are not announced.

This is a reminder that tomorrow (Monday, February 4th) is the last day of open
registration for the 2013 SCT. Registration will close at midnight Monday (central time). Any registrations after that time will require the approval of the tournament director.

The SCT set has been completed and shipped to the hosts this morning. I believe R. has been in touch with everyone via email, but if you're hosting SCT tomorrow and are having any trouble with your pdfs, please contact us immediately (sct [at] naqt.com).
I would like to thank my co-editors, Andy Watkins, Andrew Hart, and Seth Teitler, for all of the time and effort they put into this year's SCT. Special thanks to all of the writers who contributed to completing the set over the last week.

Please do not publicly discuss specific questions from the 2013 SCT; there are a number of delayed sites (snowstorms, NAQT's Community College Championship, various high school events).
