University of Louisville is interested and will have 3-4 teams plus 1 buzzer system. We will have two DI squads and at least one DII squad. This is the closest sectional site to us. We'll register once the fees are announced. All the best and happy holidays.

We will be running a visual trash tournament written by members of Maryland's team after the conclusion of the SCT finals matches. Registration will be on an individual basis and will cost a few dollars per person. I will not be accepting official sign-ups until the day of the event, but if you want to let me know how many members of your team are interested (or not interested as may be the case), that can only make my job easier.

As I told you earlier Jacob, we will surely be in for a D1 team, although there is an increasing probability (albeit small) that we will also have a D2 team present as well. If that were the case then both teams will almost assuredly be shorthanded, but whatever. Also, most (if not all) of our team members who show up will be sticking around for the trash tourney.

I'll let you know specifics on both counts once my teammates relate their status to me.

EDIT: And 3 buzzers

Is the visual trash tournament going to be one big free-for-all, or a singles/doubles/quads event? Anyway, whichever it is, I would like to participate in the visual trash tournament unless the numbers work better without me.

Not sure if anyone from OSU can answer this (in which case, perhaps Jeff or someone else from NAQT could elaborate), but are there any discounts for shorthanded teams (i.e. 1-2 players)?

NAQT has no official policy on shorthanded teams. I'll ask if we can make arrangements.

Shorthanded teams are free to ask SCT hosts for discounts (as applicable to their situation). Hosts are still required to send NAQT the standard per-team fee ($40 for the first team and $35 from subsequent teams; $20 new-team discount)

What type of clocks are we supposed to bring?
Is it like a stopwatch, a timer, or just a clock?

A timer, preferably one with a display large enough to be visible to both teams.

Where should we park?

EDIT: Nvm. I found an older post. For all those wondering, there's parking at Tuttle Park Place

Quasi-final results from Region 7 (looks like we're missing a Louisville A - Case A game, and the OSU A - Case B game got doublecounted) can be found here.

Michigan C, OSU A and OSU B finished in a three-way tie for first in DII, so we did a two-game playoff seeded by PPB. Michigan C beat OSU B in the play-in game and OSU A in the finals, so the actual DII finishing order is:

1) Michigan C
2) OSU A
3) OSU B
and so on.

Also, unless I'm terribly mistaken, Carnegie Mellon A won the DI UG title.

I think you mean "Louisville A - CWRU A game" here.

EDIT: If the scoresheet never gets found for our match, I have the scores from that game that you could use to recreate the match (although I don't have any individual stats from that game except for my own, so I would need to see a copy of the round to recreate it exactly). Let me know if you need my help.

Indeed I do. I don't actually have the raw stats myself, but we'll definitely let you know if we need help with that.

Also, a whole bunch of people played the Maryland visual trash tournament afterward and had a great time. Andy Sekerak won, and since stats were kept I suppose there's a non-zero chance of their ultimate emergence.

For Maryland Visual Trash, we divided up the 22 players more or less randomly into 3 game rooms and played the first 50 questions. Then we put the top 8 in one room, the next 7 in another and the remaining 7 in the third room for the last 50 questions. After we calculated round 1 scores, most of those early scoresheets disappeared. I only have a record of the following players over 25 tossups (Andy and Mason were both credited with tossup 19):

Ethan 1-1-0
Jason 0-0-0
Andy 8-6-2
Mason 0-4-0
Drew 0-2-1
John 0-1-0
Chelsey 2-1-0

We do have complete stats for everyone's final 50 tossups:

Top Bracket

Andy 8-1-3
Wells 9-1-8
Doug 5-2-1
Lauren 5-0-0
SteveO 3-3-1
Bucher 5-0-4
John 2-2-0
Hersch 3-0-2

Middle Bracket

Mary 4-6-0
Chelsea 5-4-1
Drew 5-4-2
Steven 4-4-2
Ethan 3-0-0
Chris 0-4-2
David 2-1-6

Third Bracket

Mason 7-2-2
Brice 6-3-2
Kenny 5-4-1
Jason 3-3-1
Christina 2-4-1
Jonathan 3-2-1
Matt 1-4-3

I think it was actually the OSU B - Case B game. Minor quibble though.
