BOAT(New Jersey Area)

Post by negatron »

On April 4 BCA Quizbowl will host BOAT, the Bergen Open Academic Tournament. (Note, this is in New Jersey). You can play without fear that I will epically neg, as I will be one of the people running it. If you are interested in registration please email [email protected]. I will respond with fees and information about steep discounts for buzzers.

Please for the love of god say this will actually happen this year? You all definitely have the ok from the administration?

Just to post the parts of my earlier post relevant to this thread:
Yes, we have administration approval for hosting a tournament April 4.

The fee structure and question source will be posted at a later date (probably in a week or so). Watson wanted to get this on record before he leaves with the math team for a trip this weekend.

SHP will likely bring one team to this. A number of the kids want to try a trash tournament so I will probably send them to MAST. Let us know!

Man, if this weren't the same weekend as 3 other things I should be doing, I would come down to help out. I'm glad to see you finally got the administration to not be (as) stupid; I remember having a heck of a time trying to get the original non-occurring BOAT to happen three years ago...

I have some interest in bringing students to this.

What are the parameters? Are we limited to 2 teams?

Thanks,

The full announcement was posted at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7388&p=122277#p122277; I'm going to close this thread to avoid confusion.
