Reminder on who the board moderators are

Post by Matt Weiner »

I'm pretty sure that "hey guys, I love bad quizbowl, I'm going to go out of my way to mention that I love bad quizbowl, but don't tell me that I should like good quizbowl" is against the rules of this board; at a minimum, any non-moderator declaring certain topics as forbidden for discussion is not permitted. Furthermore, characterizing the opposition to math-calculation-tossups as "anti-math" is overwhelmingly dishonest, as is characterizing the position in this debate that is consistently more logically argued, calmly delivered, and compromise-oriented, not to mention correct, as being a "rant."

Sorry. Let me try again...
"Please reserve your well-thought elucidations of your opposition to math-calculation-tossups for a one of the dozens of other threads on this board where such discussion is already taking place, as I, despite my exposure to such dazzlingly brilliant treatises, have no intention of eliminating them from my 2009 tournament distribution which was advertised as approximating the IESA distribution. Introducing pyramidal questions to coaches who think there are two vendors (QG and everyone else) is enough of an undertaking. Ask Mr. Hollinsaid about his experience this weekend with introducing pyramidal toss-ups in central Illinois. Go ahead, ask him."

Honestly, I suggest burning the entire state down and starting over.

Sure, there are clearly parts worth saving. When you set everyone else on fire, I trust you'll know who to spare.

I can get behind this if we save Trygve. He's on my fantasy team.

I know, it's almost as if someone went out of his way to break a board rule and, in the process, bring up math calculation questions when no one else was talking about them, requiring a moderator to step in to correct a violation of the rules! If only that "people" had not decided to do such a thing.

Given the content of the last 462526 pages, I would posit that it was re-railed.
