Buzzerpalooza (3/28/09) and GLRAC (3/29/09) @ CWRU

After much deliberation, the Case Trivia Club has decided to hold both of its annual spring tournaments on the weekend of March 28th, with Buzzerpalooza taking place on Saturday 3/28 and the Great Lakes Regional Academic Championship (GLRAC) taking place on Sunday 3/29. As always, these tournaments will be taking place on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
Buzzerpalooza will be modeled after the format of the Cleveland television quiz show "It's Academic," while GLRAC will be a PACE-style tournament, with questions coming from HSAPQ's modified PACE NSC-style spring set. There will be JV divisions each day, and each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 7 games. Trophies will go to the top 2 varsity and JV teams each day, and some sort of prizes will be given to (at least) the top 3 individual scorers on Sunday.
Buzzerpalooza Fee Structure:
First Team: $60
Additional Teams: $50/team
Buzzer Discount: -$5/team (Max 2/team)
Travel Discount: -$10/team if traveling 100+ miles one way
Minimum Fee: $35/team
GLRAC Fee Structure:
First team: $70
Additional Teams: $55/team
Buzzer discount: -$5/team (Max 2/team)
Travel Discount -$10/team if traveling +100 miles one way (NOTE: If you stay for both tournament, travel discount will be applied to each tournament)
Attending both tournaments: -$5 or -$15/school (-$5 for schools with 1 team attending both; -$15 for schools with 2+ teams attending both)
Minimum Fee: $40/team
Right now, I'm putting a cap of 40 teams for each day, although this number may be tweaked depending on how I end up drawing brackets. If you would like more information or are interested in registering for one or both tournaments, post in this thread or email me at [email protected] (obviously, leave out the NOSPAM part). Thanks everybody.
