Catholic Central's Academic Tournament (1/24. Novi,MI)

I am pleased to anounce Detroit Catholic Central's upcoming Academic Tournament scheduled for Saturday, January 24th at Catholic Central High School in Novi, MI. We will be using NAQT Invitational Series IS81.
Format:
Standard NAQT format tournament with toss-up/bonuses, powers, and negs. No bouncebacks. Untimed.

Schedule:
Registration will start at 7:30 AM with games scheduled to begin around 8:15 AM. All teams will play six rounds before lunch, and the top sixteen team will advance to single elimination playoff.

Junior Varsity
I am not planning a JV division per se, but if there is sufficient interest, perhaps we could run a Junior Varsity Playoff in the afternoon for the best teams consisting strictly of ninth and tenth grade players.

Fees:
The cost will be $65 dollars per team with a $10 discount for the second team from the same school.
A $10 discount will also be added for each working buzzer system.

Do you by any chance have a goal for what time the playoffs will start?

Playoffs are scheduled to begin 12:30 PM. Round of 16 (12:30-1); Round of 8 (1-1:30), Round of 4 (1:30-2), Finals (2-2:30). We've run these in the past and been able to keep relatively on schedule; however, this is a quiz bowl tournament after all.

The field for Saturday's tournament is set. Registration is from 7:30 - 8:00 AM.

NAQT set IS-81. Untimed 10 question halves. Powers, negs, no bouncebacks. Standard NAQT rules apply.
