University of South Carolina tournament (12/6/08)

Post by scquizbowl »

Tomorrow, the University of South Carolina will be holding their tournament at the Russell House on their campus. For anybody that wants to attend the tournament, the tournament usually starts around 9am, with a draw for teams inside the Russell House.

Teams usually go here from all over the state of SC, but never outside of the state.

The tournament lasts all day, and ends around 3:30-4.

James Island will not be able to go because of the conflicts between SAT, Band, and other things going on.

Are there any other teams that plan on going to this tournament?

Southside will be sending two teams, although some of our regular members are not attending because of SAT and YIG.

I did not attend, but I have heard that Irmo defeated Southside Christian in the finals to win the tournament.

YIG is Youth in Government.

Congratulations to Irmo for winning the tournament, as well as to Southside Christian for their second place finish, and to Southside for their strong performance. There were so many good teams at USC yesterday, and I'm sure that there will be lots of teams from SC who will (and have already) compete strongly at regional and national tournaments this year. I know that myself and the rest of the Academic Team at USC were very impressed.

All of that said, I would like to note some things regarding the tournament that I think would be more appropriate to address in the comparisons section at viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5767&p=110642#p110640 .
