Weekend of Quizbowl Hotel Thread

Post by DumbJaques »

So a number of people attending Weekend of Quizbowl have contacted me about hotels for Weekend of Quizbowl. A number of people have extra space in their hotel room(s) on the order of 1-3 people, while a lot of other teams are looking for someone with whom to split a hotel room. If you meet either of these criteria, post here and this thread can serve as our own terrible little version of Craig's List.

If you want, I can look into a block at the Hampton Inn at Fairfax. I have to do one for PACE NSC, but if there is interest...

Chris Ray, you da man... I was actually going to shoot you an email about this when I got home this evening, but I came across this thread first.

Since I'd be willing to bet our team brings 3 guys and 1 girl... we'd probably be looking for someone to take Liz in or split a room with. Once I know for sure that she is coming, I'll let you know.

To let people know, I have set up a small room block at the Hampton Inn in Fairfax. The rate is $77 per night plus 11% taxes.

If you are interested, you can call the hotel directly and ask for the PACE block. Available nights are the Friday and Saturday night, but I can ask for Sunday if there is enough interest.

Gov will probably have 7 guys and 1 girl (me). Although if any of our guys drop out that could change...

Do we need to start a housing-share thread, especially on the "girls-only" room thread?

That would be helpful.

If we are planning or hoping to use the Hampton block, should we post here about potential/actual use? To be clear, I think Mitu and I would be interested in said arrangement, but I want to know the protocol.

Calls should be made directly to the hotel for booking, but we are doing a roomshare for consolidating girls/women in rooms if need be. You all will have to split that cost yourselves.

If you are staff though, you might want to let us know. :)
