Halloween remake

Post by quizbowllee »

I saw this movie... I've always been a huge Halloween fan. This movie sucked hard. They forgot to add the "scary" to it.

MILD SPOILER WARNING:

The following are some things that actually happen in the movie that ruin it:

1) Michael Myers drinks orange juice with a bendy straw. I'm not kidding.
2) Dr. Loomis talks Michael down, convincing him not to kill someone. He then tells Michael that he "did the right thing..." UGGH.
3) It's not scary AT ALL.
4) One of the great things about Michael Myers is that you never know where he is. You know he's going to jump out and scare you. In this movie, you ALWAYS know where he is because the camera is always on him.
5) He takes his mask off - even as an adult. It was always creepy that we never saw his face... Zombie ruined that, too.
6) Did I mention that it's not scary?

I was so stoked about this movie. I figured with Rob Zombie it would at least be twisted. It wasn't. It sucked. Huge let down.

I actually don't remember them showing his face except as a little kid at the very first of the movie, this is the original not the remake

Watch when Donald Pleasance comes in, you'll see his mask get yanked off before he gets shot.

Excepting his career as a porn director, has Rob Zombie ever made a movie that didn't suck? I'm inclined to say no.

Well, he directed the "Werewolf Women of the S.S." trailer of Grindhouse. Not really a film, but I thought that was pretty good.

You can see his lower jaw... Batman shows more face than that.

No -- you can see the entire face for a moment, around 4:39 or 4:40 -- he stands in the light while trying to put his mask back on.
