RESULTS: OK NAQT State Tourney (02/24/07) @ OSU-Stillwater

Post by orangecrayon »

The Oklahoma State University College Bowl team is pleased to announce that it will host the 2007 Oklahoma NAQT State championship on Feb. 24 at the Stillwater campus.

This tournament is not affiliated with OSSAA, does not have a qualifying tournament (i.e. sectionals, regionals, area) and is open to all Oklahoma high school teams. The top large and small school teams will receive an automatic bid to the 2007 NAQT High School National Championships in Chicago.

Round-robin preliminary matches will begin Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. with check-in beginning at 9. Elimination rounds will be played at the end of the day. Matches will not be timed and will use the tossup-bonus format with two 10-question halves per game.

The entry fee is $60 for the first team from each school and $50 for each additional team. Teams will receive a $15 discount for each working buzzer system brought. In addition, a $10 discount per school will be assessed if registration is received by Jan. 8, 2007. When registering, please indicate the number of teams you will be bringing, approximate school size (OSSAA classification is sufficient), and whether you will be bringing a buzzer system. Registration information will be accepted via e-mail or telephone until midnight on Feb. 17, 2007. The registration fee includes a copy of question set IS-66 for each school.

Checks may be made payable to OSU College Bowl. Driving directions will be sent at the end of the registration period, along with hotel listings if needed.

Hope to see you in Stillwater!

Brandon Ranallo of Haileyville was the top overall individual scorer, averaging 69.17 ppg. (I'd post the rest of the top individual scorers, but our stat guy hasn't e-mailed me the list and I just remembered the name and number from yesterday for some reason.)

Big thank yous to...
-- Jan Krehbiel of Panalpina Tulsa for printing our questions for free again.
-- The academic teams from the University of Tulsa and the University of Oklahoma for sending staffers. (Thanks also to Langston for offering, even though we had to turn them away.)
-- The friends and family who graciously offered up their Saturday to help out.

Thanks for the information. Are the preliminary round results available online, or is it possible I could get a copy of them by e-mail?

They're not available online, since our Webmaster's been sucked in by engineering design classes. I'd be happy to e-mail you the stats, though.
