The University of Wisconsin-Madison Quiz Bowl Team will be hosting our annual Pre-Winter Tournament December 9, 2006, in beautiful Madison Wisconsin. More Pre-Tournament Information and date change (12/2/2006)
The University of Wisconsin-Madison will its annual Pre-Winter Tournament on Saturday, December 2, 2006. The questions will be provided by NAQT , and the tournament will be played per NAQT rules, though rounds will NOT be timed. The tournament should consist of a morning of round-robin play with a bracketed championship match in the afternoon, though the final structure will depend on the number of teams fielded. Trophies will be given to the top three teams and individual awards will be given to the highest scoring students.
The exact location and schedule for the tournament will be announced the week of the tournament. However, teams should expect registration and the introductory meeting to be between 8:30 and 9:00 AM and for the championship match to end around 5:00 PM.
The base registration fee will be $75 for the first team, and $60 for any additional teams that a school may wish to field. A number of discounts are available, though the minimum registration fee will be $50 per team.
Available Discounts:
-$25 for schools which are new to quiz bowl in 2006-07
-$10 for bringing a functioning buzzer system
-$10 for providing a competent game official
