RESULTS: Green Eggs & Hammond (1/06/07 - Columbia,MD)

Post by shylar »

The 8th Annual Green Eggs and Hammond Tournament will be held once again on the first Saturday of January, January 6, 2007.

Tournament style is all conferring all the time, with shared categories like we've done for the last 6 years.

Lots of tossups, no bonuses, and one round of individual questions.

More info will be at:

I haven't seen any results posted yet, so I'll share what I know from being there yesterday for most of the day (we had to leave a little bit before the end).

50 teams filled out the field and played 6 prelim games. Here were the playoff seedings:

1. Richard Montgomery A
2. Gonzaga A
3. Whitman A
4. Langley
5. Georgetown Day A
6. Centennial A
7. Perry Hall A
8. Eleanor Roosevelt A
9. Richard Montgomery B
10. Walter Johnson
11. Dulaney A
12. Calvert Hall A
13. Robinson A
14. Mount Saint Joseph A
15. Bullis A
16. Robinson B

All the favorites won in their first round games, and in the quarterfinals, Gonzaga defeated Perry Hall. That's all I know as far as results.

As this tournament is a PACE qualifier, these top 8 teams automatically qualified for this year's NSC:

Richard Montgomery
Gonzaga
Walt Whitman
Langley
Georgetown Day
Centennial
Perry Hall
Eleanor Roosevelt

Congratulations to Richard Montgomery for defeating Whitman in the finals to once again win the Green Eggs and Hammond Academic Tournament. In the consolation round I believe Gonzaga defeated Langley.

Results will be posted on the tournament website as soon as Mr. Jenkins gets some sleep.

I'd like to apologize for the delay that was apparently caused waiting for teams from TJ. We registered for the tournament, then realized that we had our taping that day, and apparently the person delegated to unregister us never did so. I hope nobody there was plotting our deaths or anything.
