The 2006 Ottawa Quizbowl Tournament was held November 18. 5 teams participated: Lisgar CI (Ottawa), Gananoque SS (Gananoque), and newcomers Frontenac SS (Kingston).

We used an unconventional playoff format, such that all five teams would have at least one more game (with only 2 packets remaining). In the first round, #1 had a bye, #2 played #3, and #4 played #5. The final was then between seed #1 and the winner of 2v3, while the third place match was between the loser of 2v3 and the winner of 4v5.
Semifinals:
Gananoque A (#5) d. Gananoque B (#4) 190-115
Lisgar B (#2) d. Frontenac (#3) 260-160
Finals:
Gananoque A (#5) d. Frontenac (#3) 290-200
Lisgar A (#1) d. Lisgar B (#2) 550-100
Final Standings:
1. Lisgar A (8-0 RR, 1-0 playoffs)
2. Lisgar B (5-3, 1-1)
3. Gananoque A (0-8, 2-0)
4. Frontenac (4-4, 0-2)
5. Gananoque B (3-5, 0-1)
Congratulations to Lisgar A for winning the tournament. James Cooper of Lisgar, who won last year's scoring title, again led the scoring with 89.4 ppg. Celia Byrne of Lisgar B was the top junior player, with 18.1 ppg. Thanks to the teams that came out and the enthusiasm they brought.
Also, thanks to staffers Ruth Crabtree, Shauna McNally, Brock Stephenson, and Tamara Vardomskaya for a very well-run tournament.
Set IS-61A was used, with some modifications to replace American content with Canadian content. Questions should not be publicly discussed until after July 1, 2007.
