RESULTS: Tar Heel Cup 2006 (10/7/06) at UNC

Now that we've gotten some feedback, we're going to go ahead and announce October 7th as the tentative date for this year's Tar Heel Cup. Teams will receive more information once the school year starts up again.

As of right now, the field for Tar Heel Cup is as follows:

Clayton
Harnett
Robinson (2)
Greensboro Day (2?)
Calvary Baptist Day
Chapel Hill (2)
NCSSM (3)
Cape Fear Christian Academy (2?)
Lee County (2?)
Walter Williams
Johnston Christian Academy (?)

Any other interested North Carolina schools should e-mail UNCQuizBowl at gmail dot google dot com. The base fee is $60 for one team and $45 for each additional team; each team can receive a $10 discount for bringing a buzzer system.

Also, I don't think this will affect anyone, but just in case - we're sharing questions with UTC's tournament on September 30th, so you can't attend both.

As of right now registration for the Tar Heel Cup is closed. Once we confirm how many teams each school will actually be attending, it's possible more space will open up, so if you're still interested we can put you on a waiting list.

I think this is the first time anyone's closed a field in an NC tournament. Yet another milestone...

Can we get a field update now that it's locked? I am particularly interested in knowing if my registration made it in under the wire.

Raleigh Charter A defeated NCSSM A in the final round of the Tar Heel Cup. The other semifinalists were Chapel Hill B and NCSSM B.

Thanks for posting the results - it was a great tournament. The individual scoring is way off, though - at least they are for my teams.
