I have three questions.

1. Will there be awards based on individual scores?

2. What ASCA rules will be modified (blitzing would be nice)?

3. What is the deadline to sign up?

Thanks

1) Probably

2) Blitzing will be acceptable. You may also protest incorrect answers. More to come.

3) ASAP. If I don't get some significant interest in this tournament really soon, I'll have to cancel.

Would love too...buts thats the day after prom...thus not an issue of not being able to put at team together so much as me just plain axeing it unless the sophmores want to go try their hand at a tourney without the rest of us.

Blitzing is always a good thing. Unfortunately, I sometimes forget that it is not acceptable in normal ASCA rules. Also, have any teams expressed an interest in this tournament?

It looks like there will be enough interest.

Yes, you can let me know in a couple of weeks. ASAP, though, please.

Mr. Knupp, if Danville comes, I might have to see about having a scrimmage match or two with your team. I think that Danville and Brindlee Mountain are both big contenders for the NAQT small schools title this year

OK - Here's what I have so far:

Scottsboro - 5 teams
Buckhorn - 2 teams
Arab - 1 team
Covenant Christian - Matthew Hitt solo
Russellville - 2 teams (?)
Sumiton Christian - 2 teams
Webb School (TN) - 1 or 2 teams
Danville (KY) - ??? Teams
Pizitz - 2 teams?

I'm still waiting to hear from a few others who have expressed interest. We will probably switch from ASCA to a 20 TU/Bonus format. That seems to be what most teams I have talked to prefer.

Please let me know ASAP how many teams you are bringing and if anyone else it interested.

I regret to announce that due to several factors, I have decided not to hold this tournament this year. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Thanks to all of you who expressed interest.

2006 Midwest Championship at Culver Academies (IN)

Post by pblessman »

Culver Academies in Indiana is still holding the 2006 Midwest Championship on the date originally scheduled for Brindlee Mountain's tournament (May 13).

We are hoping maybe some of the teams originally registered for Lee's tourney would be interested in coming to Culver! We currently have a small but very strong field of eight teams from four states (IN, KY, FL, MI), but we hope to have about sixteen teams in total. Registration is open until this Friday, April 28.

Please see the separate Midwest Championship thread for more info, or contact blessmp [at] culver [dot] org.
