CATT XVI hosted by Chattahoochee High School (11/7/20 - CATT 2020)

Post by Jasonl33 »

Chattahoochee High School is pleased to announce the 16th Annual CATT (Chattahoochee Academic Team Tournament).
Our tournament will be held on November 7th, 2020, using an online format (either Discord or Zoom).

Eligibility:
Georgia teams ONLY are allowed to compete at this tournament. Teams from all other states/regions/countries may attend the AQBL November mirrors of our set.
Chimeras will not be permitted, meaning all players on a team must be from the same school.

Format:
We will have one division. We are expecting to cap field size at 18 teams.
Each team will play preliminary rounds in the morning and playoff rounds in the afternoon.
We will be using either Discord or Zoom (likely Discord) in conjunction with buzzin.live
The rules/format of the tournament are subject to change depending on how large the field is.
We are planning to keep individual stats.

Cost:
The cost will be $65 per team. Payment information will be sent to the emails under which teams register.
Please register through this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
(please do not grief on this spreadsheet, thanks)

Rules:
We will be using our own housewrite, CATT 2020, which is a regular-plus/nats-minus difficulty high school set. It is expected to be similar in difficulty to 2019’s BLAST. Details on the set can be found below:
viewtopic.php?p=378547#p378547
We suggest not bringing novice teams as the set will be more difficult than past years, and it is not necessarily geared towards new players.
Each team may bring up to 6 players, but only 4 will play at a time.
Rounds are 20/20 with one tiebreaker tossup if needed. There will be powers (15) and negs (-5). Four players are allowed per team. We will not use bouncebacks, and substitutes are allowed after each game only. Teams should expect to use the buzzin.live site to buzz, and the voice feature of Discord/Zoom to confer on bonuses.

Cheating & Misconduct
Everyone involved in the tournament should be sure to adhere to these basic rules: http://www.pace-nsc.org/nsc-code-of-conduct/
We will likely not be requiring use of video during gameplay; however, no act of cheating in any form will be tolerated.

If you have any questions please post here or email [email protected] . Please include "CATT XVI" in the subject.

Thank you and hope to see you at the tournament!

Thanks to all who signed up so far. Due to the field filling up quite rapidly, and that it seems more teams are interested than we have space for, we are closing the spreadsheet for the moment. Once maintenance is complete we'll go ahead and allow the signed up teams to add their rosters.
