The Quizbowl Resource Center

I am pleased to announce a high school mirror of ACF Fall 2017, to be held concurrently with the Mid-Atlantic site at the University of Maryland on Saturday, 4 November 2017. ACF Fall is the year's premier introductory-level collegiate quizbowl tournament, and we hope to give an opportunity for high schools in the area to play on what should be a great event. The location of this tournament is still to be determined.

We are tentatively going to cap the field at 12 teams, as to encourage more experienced teams to sign up. We will adjust the field based on the interest and the number of available staff.

Registration
Registration for this event has two steps:
First, please email me at [email protected] with your team name, number, and buzzer/staffer information.
Second, fill out the central ACF Fall registration form at this site with all relevant information.

Fees
Base fee: $135
Buzzer: -$5/functional system
Staffers: -$10/staffer

Packet Discounts/Penalties
ACF will not be accepting packets from high school teams.

Payment
Payment for ACF Fall will be processed through the ACF Treasurer, Gautam Kandlikar. He will get in touch with you about how much your team owes, how to pay for the tournament, etc. Please contact Gautam at [email protected] with any questions regarding payment.

Can we get a field update or are we actually the only school sending a team as of now?

Currently, Charter is the only school signed up for the high school mirror of ACF Fall. For now, the tournament is happening but since we’ve had little interest from high schools, it is very likely to be canceled. I will make this decision in the next couple of days and provide an update accordingly.

Due to lack of interest from high school teams, this tournament will be canceled. My apologies to the two Wilmington Charter teams that were signed up.
