With our early August practices, Cistercian is gearing up for another year of great QB action and results.
With a tremendous influx of new players from our Freshmen and Sophomore classes, we've got the largest
number of student players going back to 1989 when I first started!

September will see us competing in a # of locales, and our students seem more than eager to go!

See Y'all in Dallas come next year's NAQT Nationals -- and probably at PACE as well!

Cistercian motored up to the Lewis Cup @ Stillwater on September 25-26, 2015 and had a great time playing a diverse set of teams which gave our students from newbie freshmen all the way up to our "A" Nationals team a good chance to see where we stand at the beginning of the 2015-2016 campaign. And where we can improve (lots of that!).

We always enjoy the hospitality of our brothers and sisters north of the Red River, esp. The Lewis Cup -- it really has become something of an institution!

Thanks to organizers, readers, officials, and competitors & coaches!

Sadly, I was not able to attend, but happily the reason for that was that I'd flown out to California, officiating at an alumnus' wedding; but Father Augustine was a great leader of the Hawks' contingent.

Cistercian Prep is glad to have gone to the Cougar Invitational in El Reno, Oklahoma, on the campus of Redlands Community College, because it was there that we were able to qualify THREE teams for NAQT Nationals - the first time in our QB history.

This is the first time that Cistercian Prep has had the good fortune AND the student ability to qualify 3 (three) teams, so we are pretty excited about the rest of the QB season.

Obviously, after winning the Lewis Cup, we thought we could do well there, but El Reno proved to be the 'jackpot' with our Sophomore and Freshmen teams both qualifying AND our "A" team winning the entire tournament.

Many thanks to the tournament director, her staff, and NAQT for making this all possible.

Didn't make the latest Top 200 rankings - Oh, well.
I guess winning two tournaments in Oklahoma for didn't
mean much in the ebb and flow of things, but Cistercian certainly
enjoyed BOTH the competition and the hospitality of our
tournament hosts!

While we @ Cistercian enter the 'quiet' phase of the QB year,
we are full steam ahead with practices, scrimmages, and additional research.

This is the first year we're taking THREE teams to NAQT nationals here in Dallas,
followed a week later by TWO teams going PACE/Chicago!

These are going to be great team-building exercises for all of our returning
students, AND it will give them an opportunity to put some stats up that can
really make a statement about their own development.

The best to all our competition nationally!
