The Blair 'Last Chance' Its Academic Tournament

Post by blazer06 »

Blair High School, in Silver Spring, Maryland, will be holding the Blair 'Last Chance' Its Academic Tournament, on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 and we will be using NAQT question set IS-50; please do not register if you have played the question set before. Typical NAQT untimed format (of 20 tossups and unrelated bonuses) and NAQT rules apply.

Each team is guaranteed to play at least 5 rounds, with the top 16(by wins then points) making single-elimination playoffs. Prizes will also be awarded for highest scorers. Due to time constraints, the playoffs will occur the following Thursday, May, 26.

The top 15% of teams will make NAQT HSNCT in Chicago, Illinois. This will probably be your last chance to qualify for the 2005 HSNCT!(hence the name).

We expect teams to arrive between 3:00 and 3:15 PM, please park on the Colesville Road parking lot. Blair's address is:

51 University Boulevard East
Silver Spring, Maryland 20910

Fees
$40 per team
$5 per question set

Instead of charging the usual amount, we have decided to lower the registration cost; but please bring your buzzer systems anyway.

If interested, register by sending an email to [email protected] or [email protected]; Please indicate the number of teams you will send, the number of buzzer sets you will bring, and whether you would like a question set or not.

Thank you; we hope to see you on May 24th.
