ATROPHY VI @ Northern Illinois University (4/25/15)

Post by Irreligion in Bangladesh »

Northern Illinois University's Quiz Bowl Association will host the sixth annual April Tournament Run On Pennies, Halfpence, and Yen on April 25th, 2015. This year's tournament will again mirror the fine BHSAT set; we'd like to thank Grace Liu, Jacob Reed, and Yale for again letting us mirror it.

Schools can register up their A teams initially; B, C, etc. teams will be waitlisted until April 15th, and will be allowed into the tournament after that date on a first-come-first-served basis. The initial field cap is set at eighteen teams, but this number may rise if we have significant interest and staff.

This tournament has traditionally served as a preparatory tournament for nationals-caliber teams at a significant price discount to assist the nationals-weary budget. All teams are welcome, and we may split the field into divisions if a) we have enough registrations to merit doing so, and b) a significant number of registered teams would prefer we do so.

Register by emailing me, Brad Fischer, at [email protected] with the number of teams you wish to register and the discounts you will receive (buzzer, moderator, etc.).

Fees
Entry Fee per team: $40
Extra team: -$5
Working buzzer set: -$5
Experienced moderator without laptop: -$5
Experienced moderator with laptop: -$10
Minimum fee: $10/team

We look forward to seeing you in DeKalb in April!

Sure! With a day to go before the B- and C-teams are let in, we have entries from the following schools:

Auburn
Barrington
Bloomington
Carbondale
"Central Hinsdale"
Keith
Metea Valley
UChicago Lab

with five, possibly six teams on the B-team waitlist.

If your school would like to join this list, let me know!

Can you post a field update as soon as the B and C teams register?

At the moment, the ATROPHY field is locked at these 16 teams:

Auburn (3 teams)
Barrington
Bloomington (3 teams)
Carbondale
"DuPage County Central" (2 teams)
Keith
Metea Valley
Saint Joseph's (2 teams)
UChicago Lab (2 teams)

A couple of the extra teams have said they're not 100% confirmed, so if you are still interested in coming, e-mail me ASAP.

Looking forward to Saturday!
