Also, check out the map of the teams in the field. Okay, it's not super exciting yet, but I think it'll get interesting soon. (Compare last year's.)

It's Wednesday afternoon and we currently have 15 teams on the waitlist. Who's ready to sign up so that we can expand the field to 272 teams?

Fine print: All waitlisted teams must have qualified, and they must confirm their intention to attend before the expansion will occur. In addition, the threshold must be achieved when no teams are (known to be) in the process of canceling their registrations.

So I was reading about a stalling ruling that was overturned on protest. How does a moderator timing ruling get overturned?

Thanks for the 'grats, Mr. Hoppes, and thank you to everyone who came out to see me and my team today.

We feel truly blessed for having made it so far. I was extremely humbled by the level of knowledge that I witnessed over the weekend. Thanks to Thomas Jefferson High School for giving us a hell of a thrilling finals game. Also, thanks to R. Robert Hentzel, NAQT, and all the tournament staffers for organizing such a fun tournament! Finally, thanks to whoever was responsible for editing the trash section for including stuff that I like.

We're sorry that we hard to rush out right after finals and miss the awards ceremonies. We had to catch one of the last planes returning to New York on Sunday night.

As usual, it was awesome to see a building chock-full of so many people invested in quizbowl. It's an honor to be this year's national champions!

There was no official protest. The game officials conferred after the tossup and decided together that the original answer had been given in time. I was a bit unclear about this on the liveblog (I said that a team protested, meaning there were complaints from the team) and for that I apologize.

I just wanted to second my captain's (Albert) post. I'd like to thank NAQT for doing a great job running such a massive tournament, and I'd like to thank every team that came. I had a fantastic time playing with some really humbling people both on my team, on other teams, and moderating/attending the tournament. The one thing I would like to add specifically is that if anyone was bothered or put off by my conduct during any of our games, I am very sorry. It wasn't meant as any disrespect.

Hello everyone. :) Many teams in the podcast room on Saturday asked when the podcasts would be available, and I wanted to go ahead and post here so everyone would have that information.

Podcasts are posted once Jonah sends me the raw data, I have time to edit them down to just the gameplay (removing halftime, etc.), make sure the recording quality is okay, and then get him the edited raw files and the associated mp3s. After that, they will be posted once NAQT deems the set to be clear.

For HSNCT, my guess--based on past experience--would be that this would be towards the later part of the summer (which is what I told teams who asked me on Saturday). If this is incorrect, Jeff or Jonah, please feel free to step in and correct me.

When they are posted, NAQT will make an announcement to that effect on the news feed on the front page of naqt.com, so keep an eye there.

This was my 6th HSNCT as a player/coach and I can happily say that this was the most efficient and pleasurable one I've attended. We didn't have to wait long between matches like sometimes in the past and I thought the hotel layout was great. Sometimes in Atlanta and Chicago it felt like we walked all over the hotel and having to play several matches in hotel rooms was annoying (especially when we've had larger groups) but this year I felt like all the rooms were close together and we only had to play in a hotel room once. I thought the lack of a nearby mall/food court would make Saturday's lunch a nightmare but it was actually pretty smooth. Our head coach, Josh Rutsky, made the suggestion of adding a coaches tournament in the future and I hope this will be explored. We had a blast playing a consolation game on Sunday against some high schoolers. Also, is there a video/recording of the match between the moderators/computer?
