Lexington High School in Lexington, MA is pleased to announce the Lexington Invitational Tournament (LIT), to be held on December 20, 2014. We will be using NAQT’s IS-142 set, with 20 untimed tossups each round. All teams are guaranteed 10 games. The field is tentatively capped at 24 teams, and is subject to change based on number of teams and rooms available.

Fee structure:

$70 base fee for each team
-$10 experienced staffer discount (Max 1 per school)
-$5 buzzer discount (Max 2 per school)
-$10 new team discount (Applies to teams who have not played any pyramidal quiz bowl tournaments since December 21, 2012.)
-$15/100 mi. distance discount

Teams interested in registering can either reply to this post, or shoot me an email at [email protected]. Please include the number of teams you are bringing, how many fully functional lock-out buzzer systems you can bring, as well as how many experienced staffers you can provide. In addition, please provide a team contact, as well as his/her cell phone number and email.

-$15/100 mi. distance discount

-Minimum fee of $60 per team
Is it intentional that a single distance discount brings the price lower than the minimum?

Sorry about that, we have just removed the minimum fee and instead, set the maximum amount of buzzers at 2.

We are now Gold-certified with PACE, meaning that the top 20% of the field will qualify for the NSC.

There will most likely be (with enough interest) a tossup-only, doubles literature side event at LIT. Forums announcement at: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16549.

Congratulations to Bethlehem for finishing in first place after the second game of an advantaged final, after a long day of 13 rounds of quiz bowl! Hingham A finished In 2nd, Acton-Boxborough took 3rd, and Bishop Guertin A took 4th. The first three finishers have qualified for the NAQT HSNCT, and the top 4 have qualified for the PACE NSC. Stats have been posted here: bit.ly/lexqubo. I'll upload combined stats as soon as I figure out how to.

Just wanted to say you guys did a great job for your first tourney ever. The individual awards thing was a minor problem, which I'm sure won't happen in the future. Apart from that I thought everything went very smoothly, and my team had a lot of fun. Hope you do this again next year--E. O. Smith will definitely sign up.
