Summer Practices at UMD

Post by VinaiRachakonda »

Hey,

Is anyone interested at having HSQB practices at Jimenez Hall over summer?

Thanks

This was actually a (very poorly explained) post about having Maryland area high school practices at Maryland, which several players expressed a desire to do after their underclassmen found they just weren't getting all that much out of Chicago Open packets.

I've unlocked the thread, but it should be edited to appear more competently organized if you actually want people to show up (and don't want it locked again).

Hey, my bad for the originally short and stupid post.

Basically what Chris said. A couple of us from ER went to the UMD practice on Tuesday and played the college sets they practiced with. It was a good experience, but our QB development would be better served by focusing on HS content for now. Chris and the other UMD members suggested that we try to organize or invite others to join for HS-specific practices, for which they offered the use of Jimenez Hall as a practice location. I think this would be a great idea and it would help the people on the circuit. It would be cool if we could find ways to invite students from non-traditional QB schools like DBCR, Hammond, etc. and help them get a handle on playing and studying quiz bowl in the offseason, when they might have more time to care about it than the busy school year.

Is anyone interested in joining or helping organize these sessions?
