Ezell-Harding Academic Tournament - September 14, 2013

Post by RGRummage »

We have e-mailed the invitations and registration forms for our twentieth Ezell-Harding Christian School Academic Tournament to be held on September 14, 2013, in Nashville, TN. If you did not receive this information and would like a copy, please e-mail me at [email protected].

We will again use a round-robin format, and we will be using NAQT Questions (IS Set #128). At the conclusion of the morning rounds, we will give each school a copy of the questions used for the preliminary rounds. We will begin with a coaches' meeting at 8:30 (Central Time) and expect to finish the tournament by 3:30 or 4:00.

Our registration fee remains at $60 per team with a four-team limit per school. There will be a varsity division only though jv teams are certainly invited to compete in our tournament as varsity teams.

We anticipate another full field of 60 teams from throughout the nation, so please register as soon as you know your plans. We look forward to having you again.

Great tournament as always. Thanks to all the Ezell Harding people for their hospitality and organization. I am sure Dr. Rummage will have full results up on the NAQT website soon but quick results are:

1. Chattahoochee
2. Dorman A
3. Dunbar B (who beat their A team in the Round of 16 I believe)
4. Dorman B

Thanks again for an awesome event!

Seeing as how it was us, Dorman, Dunbar and Chattahoochee left in the final four, should we not be in there?

Oops. I was basing 3rd/4th place off what some players said. Mea culpa.

Perfectly understandable. I'm not sure if Johnson Central A or Dunbar B would be put in the 3rd place spot, considering we were both eliminated in the same round.

Agreed. More appropriate would probably be to say Semifinalists since a consolation game was not played. We should also include Quarterfinalists on this list since teams 5-8 qualified for the HSNCT because the event had a field of over 50 teams.

The only Quarterfinalist I can be sure of is Hume-Fogg Magnet A, as we played them that round.

Obviously I know that Gatton made the quarters, and I believe that USN A did too, but not entirely sure.

I am sure that USN A made it- that is who Dunbar B played. Both that game and the game against Dunbar A were overtime games.

Any coach or player who took stats for this event who has not emailed or messaged me already - please do so! (current email on profile)
I am in the process of compiling what limited stats there are and I certainly hope more exist because I only have 5 or so responses.
Thank you.
