I do; looks like both are under the same tournament name. I'll have to fix that some time.

I would like to argue that the current theme for the rankings page makes it look like you're running a pregnancy blog for your baby girl (jokes, jokes, but not actually).

129. Rock Bridge A (PA) (UR) – 20.76
Is this supposed to be the Rock Bridge in MO that had 20.56 PPB on GSAC, or is there a Rock Bridge in Pennsylvania I can't find? (I notice that the aPPB for #162 Hannibal is 19.97 for their actual combined GSAC PPB of 19.77, so it seems like that's the stat line this Rock Bridge refers to.)

Both Rock Bridge and Hannibal also have more stat lines than that this year - are those other stats excluded for some reason? (No big deal - I'm just curious)

Thanks!

To be fair, I now find the website far more pleasing to read.

Though it might help if the pink background was changed to blue or something.

Pretty sure this has already been accounted for, but just to make sure: Arcadia A at ACF Regionals was short a player, their science specialist.

Yeah, I goofed on the state. I'll fix it when I wake up later.

I don't have those other stat lines showing up because of the gap between their top performances and those other stats.

It's worth noting, as mentioned above, Fred has well over 3000 statlines.
1. It would be an awful timesink for him to research roster adjustments to all of those teams.
2. It would be inconsistent to only add those adjustments to those teams which actively request them.
3. It would be mathematically silly to come up with some ad hoc "second player missing? add 7% to their PPB to compensate" adjustment.
4. Primarily, teams are ranked on their best performance, so if you ever get your whole team together, you'll be ranked based on that. If not, we'll just have to settle for you surprising us all at nationals.

According to the theme page for Adelle, you should be able to use a custom background by going to Appearance->Background in the Wordpress settings.

And to TRIPLE POST!~: this post from Jon is 100% correct. Arcadia in particular already has 4 aPPBs better than the Regs performance; no adjustment would even be necessary.

Yeah sure. On the "Edit Post" page for an individual post, click "Screen Options" on the upper right-hand corner, and click "Discussion". This will make the Discussion module visible-- from there, you can enable or disable comments individually. Like so: http://i.imgur.com/H1S3rne.png

About what ppb adjustment would HSNCT and NSC have or does it vary too much from year to year to be sure?

I believe you're missing ACF Regionals (http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... /complete/) for Colonel By (if you decided to include ACF Regionals in the rankings). Also, could you please post the updated stat adjustments for sets?

I was looking at the Morlan ranking system and noticed that he makes adjustments for different question sets. What would the adjustment be for the ,NAQT produced, questions read for NYS Master Mind Leagues ? I was curious to see if it really works out. My Kid's team actually got ranked based on 19.8 PPB at Prison Bowl with 5 mostly good players. In the Albany Masterminds League playing with 18 kids on the team and communistically letting everyone play they pull down 21.7 I assume the 21.7 is worse than the 19.8..., Tomorrow they start their Masterminds playoffs & I assume they'll play with a stronger core group... so we'll see what their PPB goes to then. I wonder if the playoff masterminds Questions are any harder than the regular season?

Any insight to satisfy my curiosity is appreciated.

I don't do anything with Masterminds, in part because teams are apparently made up of a limitless number of players.

Fred,

I get that, but I am more interested in what you think the adjustment( for the hardness of the question sets they use ) would be. Also in the playoffs they seem to go with the core players, so that may be more interesting to you. If you'd like I can send you the results or point you at them after they are done....

I just think a tournament that goes beyond 5 vs 5 isn't really able to have a difficulty adjustment determined for it, since an adjustment depends on comparing it vs an IS performance (with 4 or 5 players per team).

Fred, I am not asking you to rank them based on this. I agree that you would have no integrity if you did. But, I want to get a feel for how good our best players are. I know which players answer the questions.. So this really helps.

Will there be an adjustment done for MUT? There are a decent amount of high school teams that have played it this year at various sites. Though if the issue is finals putting too much of a strain on time, then that's totally understandable.

Finals week. Only thing being ranked right now is how sad I am.
1. When Kentucky lost the national championship (4.82)
2. Finals week (4.20)
3. When the Ultimate Warrior died (3.97)
4. When Fred stubbed his toe (3.25)
5. When another quiz bowl cheating scandal was uncovered (3.21)
