Price Structure: $80 for the first team, $70 for each team after the first
-$5 for each functional buzzer systems
-$5 for each 50 miles traveled (as determined by google maps)
-$20 per team for schools that have not competed in an, mACF-style or NAQT tournament in the past 2 years
$60 minimum for a team.
Cash is preferred.

Prizes will be offered to the top individual scorers

If you are interested in attending or have any questions, send an email to [email protected] OR reply to this thread with the following information:

1) Your school's name
2) The number of teams you are bringing
3) The number of buzzer systems you will bring
4) Price you are expecting to pay, after subtracting relevant discounts.

Places to Eat: There are places to eat on Magnolia, Colfax, and Laurel Canyon, all of which are walking distance away. There are two Thai places, Taco Bell, Yum Yum Donuts, Big Time, Popeyes, Weinershnitzel, as well as other random restaurants at nearby strip malls. For those interested there is an In-N-Out within driving distance on Lankershim.

Thank You,
Joseph Gorelik

Arcadia is definitely interested and will probably send 4-7 teams, along with our two buzzer sets. I'll get the finalized info to you by email about a week before 11/17.

It's nice to see an LA tournament this year that Arcadia isn't hosting

Is this going to be a national qualifier?

From my understanding HSAPQ sets are qualifiers for PACE. I will keep you posted on what percentage of teams qualify when i find out the exact data.

We have not run into a problem of that sort yet. In theory the cap will be 20-24 teams depending on whether the administration will allow us to use multiple floors. I would be overjoyed if we had that problem, but judging by the field at ATLAS, we probably will not have a problem. I can give you an official figure tomorrow or tuesday when we turn in the list of all the rooms we would use.

1) Irvine
2) 4 teams
3) 2 buzzers (maybe three if we order another one)
4) With two buzzers (plus the distance discount) $275

Thank you to everyone that has responded with the number of teams that will attend.
To answer the question as to what the cap will be, we have decided that the cap will be 24 teams with the possibility, if there is interest, to expand to 32 teams.

The number of possible teams after the confirmed ones. i.e Arcadia will send 4-7 teams. 4 teams are written down with (+3) possible extra teams.

How are you guys doing on buzzers and moderators, and have you contacted other LA schools (Palos Verdes, Chadwick, SaMo, etc.)?

It would be a good idea to have the field update in the original post and just update it whenever you get new teams to sign up. That way people don't have to scroll down every time and you don't need to write the filed update independently every time.

Here's a brief recap of the results I saw on the board when we were leaving the tournament. If you have any corrections to make, anything you want to add, or when you release the stats, let me know and I'll add it to the write-up.

Thanks for hosting!

I suppose it's worth noting that the standings in those stats are in the wrong order because the championship and consolation brackets got merged, but the other stats look accurate. Thanks for hosting!
