Triton Novice Tournament (TNT) at UCSD 10/13/12
Triton Novice Tournament (TNT) at UCSD 10/13/12
The UCSD quizbowl team is proud to announce our third annual Triton Novice Tournament, to be held at the UCSD campus
on Saturday, October 13th, 2012.
This novice tournament is an excellent way for new players and teams to get
introduced to quizbowl, since the questions are geared specifically for
newer players and eligibility is restricted to less-experienced teams. Last
year, we attracted 35 teams from all around Southern California and hope to
again see a large and diverse field this year.
Eligibility Restrictions: All 9th and 10th graders from any school,
regardless of academic experience, are eligible. 11th and 12thgraders may
play if they attended a maximum of up to 1 previous quizbowl tournament
(Academic League, Science Bowl, etc. do not count towards this restriction;
email us if you have any questions about a player's eligibility). The
purpose of this tournament is for novice and JV players to gain experience
and we will cross-check rosters with past tournaments to ensure that only
true novices are playing. All players are welcome at our Triton Fall
tournament coming up on November 10th.
Fees and Discounts:
$60 for the first team from a school (teams consist of up to 6 players,
with any 4 playing at one time)
$50 for subsequent teams (B team, C team, etc)
-$40 for the first team from a school that has never played a quizbowl
tournament before
-$20 per competent moderator provided
-$5 for each functional buzzer set provided
More logistical information will be provided closer to the date of the
tournament to teams that are registered. To register, simply email us at ucsdqb [at] gmail.com
telling us how many teams you expect to bring and any buzzers or moderators
that you can provide. Posting in this thread will not register your team.
If you have any questions about the tournament or would like more
information about quizbowl, feel free to get in touch with us! We'd be more
than happy to help with questions about question formats and logistical
information.

RB's definitely interested. We'll probably send 2-4 teams with 1-3 buzzers and a moderator. Specifics will hopefully be determined soon.

Is there a field cap or a max number of teams per school?
Re: Triton Novice Tournament (TNT) at UCSD 10/13/12
We're most likely going to cap the field at 35 teams, unless we can get more moderators and rooms. There's no maximum number of teams per school.

Congratulations to the "Clint Eastwood Institute for Advanced Geriatric Dramaturgical Studies" (yes, there's a need for the pseudonym) for winning the 3rd annual Triton Novice Tournament over Del Norte A. Stats: Prelims. Overall.
I'll have more to say over at SoCalQuizbowl in a bit about the tournament. Thanks to the 30 teams who actually showed up after confirming that they would!

Is there any chance you could repost the stats with round report enabled?

No (it took 2 hours of reworking the stats to make them manageable and I don't want to go through them again to add rounds to the half that are missing or inaccurate), but I have saved the scoresheets and can mail them, just send me an address.TheDoctor wrote:Is there any chance you could repost the stats with round report enabled?
