I realize that it's still a little early, but if the college counterpart is any indication, does any site have more than eight teams for IHSSBCA novice? Is it because relatively few schools are prepared to field teams this early? Perhaps we might want to choose a later date in the future? (I am having a similar problem finding who's the coach at schools "missing in action"; no one seems to know and none of my messages left for Activities Directors or TDs have been returned, after about fifty that I have called so far).

Mid-to-late October has worked well for SCOP in the past, and there isn't any date later in the calendar worth using.

I strongly suggest that hosts send e-mails in the near future (i.e. between now and the end of the month) to follow up on the mailing the IHSSBCA sent out.

The field at Fenton is up to 15 teams, but Brad is right. I plan to send out some emails later this week.

If any teams are interested in coming and haven't informed me yet, please do so soon. I need 2 more teams to register before I can expand the field to 24.

Also, I could still use staffers. Please contact me ASAP.

Fenwick would like to send three teams to this - we had the check sent out last Thursday, I think.

Any news on the field expansion? I believe our coach signed us up for a few teams at this tournament.

I updated the field above. Metea Valley is on my waiting list, but I won't be expanding the field again.

First, many thanks to the staffers and coaches whose efforts made this a successful tournament. Second, thanks to the SCOP Novice team who produced another outstanding set this year.

I was extremely impressed with the level of competition from all our novice players today. I'm already looking forward to hosting this event again next year.

Full stats will be forthcoming shortly, but for now, here are the top 4 teams in the tournament.

1. Whitney Young
2. Fenwick A
3. Barrington B
4. Homewood-Flossmoor

Congratulations as well to Anish Doshi of Barrington A who was the high scorer in the morning rounds with 81 PPG.

If anyone has comments or questions about the tournament, please let know. Thanks again to all the coaches and players who came out to Fenton today.
