Third Annual North Georgia Academic Team Tournament (NGATT)

Post by North_GA_ATeam »

The North Georgia College & State University Academic Team is proud to announce the Third North Georgia Academic Team Tournament (NGATT), to be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, on the North Georgia campus in beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia, located north of Atlanta. This tournament will be using NAQT Packets (IS-109).

The format will be either a regular RR or a random prelim/matched playoff system wherein all teams will play 5 prelims among random teams and then be re-bracketed into matched divisions for 5 more rounds of playoffs. Rounds will consist of 20 Toss Ups with 30-point bounce-back bonuses.

The entry fee will be $65 for each team with no limit on teams from a particular school. Checks can be made out to the NGCSU Academic Team and can be delivered the day of the tournament.

There will be a $5 discount for each school that provides a worker, limit two such discounts per school. There will also be a $5 discount for each school that provides a buzzer system, limit to one such discount per team registered.

SQBS will be utilized for score-keeping.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] (please note the extra "a").

We will be capping the field at 18 teams; we're currently at 18. If we can get to 22, we will consider expanding the field to accommodate one more team's ability to register for HSNCT.)

North GA folks, please add 1-2 teams from Chattahoochee to your field. We can also bring 1-2 buzzers. I will let you know for sure later next week the exact numbers from the Hooch. Thanks!

That's a Murders' Row of teams there. I have a feeling a couple may have to play each other in the prelims and a few may be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

I have now tried to e-mail you twice (the first time being about 3 1/2 weeks ago) to try to get a team into the field for this!

This weekend, Mr. Richards offered to let my team take the place of Cedar Shoals B.

Can I please bring a team? Can somebody get back to me in the next 24 hours to let me know (so I can let my team know one way or the other)?

Thanks a Lot,

Matt,

I believe the N. GA folks know of your interest and may have tried to contact you as well. I am pretty sure they assume you are indeed taking Cedar Shoals B's slot. I just emailed Mr. Richards to ask him about it as well. Hope you guys can make it.

I apologize for the delay in replying, but the scheduling issue has been worked out.

Now we're sitting at 18 teams, but not that Etowah is unable to attend. Whitefield and Alpharetta have taken its place.
