2011 New Jersey NAQT State Championship
Princeton University will host this year's NAQT State Championship for the State of New Jersey. The tournament will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 on the Princeton Campus.
The packet is NAQT IS-105.
Fees:
$80 for the first team from a school.
$70 for each additional team
-$10 Discount per Buzzer System

Location (thus far):
The location of the tournament and available parking will be sent to coaches once they have been determined. Parking is free, and usually available close to campus.

Dan,
Too remove confusion, Saint Joe's will be bringing THREE teams, 2 buzzers and 1 moderator. And, if you do not mind, could you provide a field update?

So, would all, any of you mind a NY team or two crashing your party?
There is an Upstate NY Championship at Cornell U in Ithaca (4 1/2 hours away) on a day right in the middle of our trimester exams or there is you guys at Princeton U in Princeton (1 1/2 hours away) on a good day! No-brainer for me! We promise to play fair!
Let me know. Thanks!

This is fine.BroNi wrote:So, would all, any of you mind a NY team or two crashing your party?
A better solution, of course, would be to find a host for a metro NYC New York state championship sometime next month. Interested volunteers should contact me as soon as possible.

Re: 2011 New Jersey NAQT State Championship
Jeff,
I have no problem with Kellenberg coming to NJ to compete and to help prepare its team for NAQT Nationals in this way. I consider Brother Nigel and his kids to be wonderful friends, not only of SJHS, but of excellent competition everywhere, so Kellenberg enhances the field in every way.
But I do have a question for you if I may: Suppose Kellenberg nips Seton Hall (or fill in the blank for any other New Jersey team at the tournament) for the Championship, which team is the New Jersey NAQT State Champion? Is it Kellenberg, or is it Seton Hall, the highest placing NJ team in this hypothetical? Your quick response to Kellenberg's inquiry about participating in the NJ Championships did not address this obvious jurisdictional problem, yet to be fair to everyone involved, not only to Brother Nigel in making his request, but to all of the New Jersey schools affected by your answer, don't you think it should be? Remember, many schools depend on public success for continued school funding, so an NAQT Title can help such schools get the funding they need and which they might otherwise lose, so the question is not simply a rhetorical one and your answer can have substantive consequences. So, could you provide an NAQT answer or ruling on this question, before the tournament starts, so everyone knows & understands the rules from the outset?

Yes; I just started a new thread to discuss this so the whole country can see it without the answers being buried in individual-tournament threads.Edward Powers wrote: But I do have a question for you if I may: Suppose Kellenberg nips Seton Hall (or fill in the blank for any other New Jersey team at the tournament) for the Championship, which team is the New Jersey NAQT State Champion?
