Arkansas NAQT Championship - 3/26/11 at Harding

The Harding University Academic Quiz Team is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the 2011 NAQT Arkansas State Championship on March 26th, 2011 at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, using question set IS-105. The top 15% of the field and the top small school (must finish in top half of the field) will qualify for the 2011 NAQT High School National Championship to be held on May 27-29 in Atlanta, Georgia. The top three teams and the top small school will receive trophies, and prizes will be given a number of the top individual scorers.

Fee schedule:
Base fee: $55
Discounts:
B,C, etc. teams: -$10
Buzzer set: -$5 (max 2 buzzer discounts per school)
Distance: -$5 for every 50 miles traveled one way
New to NAQT: -$10


The field will be (initially) capped at 18 teams. I will try my hardest to not have to turn away any teams. Every team will be guaranteed at least 8 games, and the schedule will be a round robin in pool play, followed by rebracketed playoffs.
There will not be computational math at this tournament.

This tournament happened. Teams played round robins in preliminary brackets and then the top 4 crossed-over to play the top 4 from the other bracket. Records against common opponents were carried into the playoffs. Watson Chapel A defeated Parkview A in a two game advantaged final to take the championship.

Placing:
1st place - Watson Chapel A
2nd place - Parkview A
3rd Place - Benton A

1st place small school - Malvern A (finished in top half of field)
2nd place small school - Norfork
