Danville Fall Tournament (10/16/2010)

Post by Coach K »

Danville High School is announcing its 2nd annual (Not Quite) Season Opener for October 16th, 2010. We are aware that this is a PSAT date, but it was the date that worked best for us.

Provided there is sufficient interest, we will have separate Varsity and JV divisions.

Our intention is to use the first 20/20 HSAPQ set available at that time. Morning rounds will be round robin with rebracketed playoffs in the afternoon (which should mean at least 8 matches for each team).

Registration is $60 per team (with no discounts).

If you have any further questions, please contact me at [email protected].

We will probably go, but that will depend on whether or not we can talk our administrators into using the Tuesday PSAT date.
If we can, count on 2-3 Grayson teams.

I thought the PSAT was usually taken on a Tuesday. Anyway, is your whole team made up of sophomores and juniors?

Tuesday is right; our school did it on Saturday last year, so I wasn't sure.

Our whole team isn't made up of them, but we have 10.
We will probably still field one team if the testing is a conflict.

They have a Saturday time also (each school chooses which time to have it I believe).

Hopefully your administration is cooperative Scott. I'll make sure you all get sent the registration form either way.

Please "save" 2-3 spots for Grayson.
I think I can get our PSAT people to cooperate, but I won't find out until later on in August.
Also, whether we bring 2-3 teams will depend upon interested and conflicts on that date.
If we come, we can bring 2 buzzers.

Rob,

Ballard is interested in at least one, possibly two, teams.

Thanks,
Bryan

Johnson Central should be attending with either one or two teams. I am pretty confident it will be one.

Btw, Manual will not be at full strength this tournament, with Shray Kapoor (captain) and I missing.

Here are final results for the tournament:

Varsity:
1st - Northmont (defeated Dunbar in an advantaged final)
2nd - Dunbar A
3rd - Johnson Central
4th - Dunbar B

JV:
1st - Dunbar A
2nd - Johnson Central
3rd - Dunbar B
4th - Campbell County

Full results can be found here: http://results.scobo.net/SQBS.aspx?org= ... =standings

We did not keep individual statistics, so each team shows up with a single player. We used HSAPQ 15.
