2021 PACE NSC: June 5-6 - Congratulations TJHSST A!

Post by Thaumatibis gigantea »

The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence is pleased to announce that the 2021 National Scholastic Championship will take place online on the weekend of June 5, 2021. PACE is looking forward to continuing the NSC after last year’s unfortunate cancellation. We are committed to ensuring the tournament runs smoothly in its new format, while maintaining our high standards of competitive integrity.

The tournament will be directed by Casey Bindas, and the set will be head edited by Mike Bentley.

The field cap is currently set to 72 teams, which will be revisited in the spring. Further information will be announced prior to the registration start date on January 1st, 2021.

Registration for the 2021 NSC is now open. Further information on registration can be found on the tournament page on our website (http://www.pace-nsc.org/2021-pace-nsc/).

A few major changes for this year: In order to facilitate online competition on Zoom, we are changing our question format to exclude bonus bouncebacks. We are also requiring all teams to adhere to our anti-cheating policy.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process, you may contact Director of Communications Rebecca Rosenthal at [email protected].

A reminder to all teams interested in playing the 2021 PACE NSC that wild card bids are now being accepted.

Teams that have not qualified for the NSC through the above system can submit a wild card bid. Additionally, a school that has qualified its A Team for the NSC can submit a wild card bids for additional teams (B team, C team, etc.) if those additional teams from the same school has not qualified through other means.

To submit a wild card bid, email PACE’s Wild Card Coordinator, Michael Borecki, at [email protected] with the following: team name, contact information, and a summary of the team’s accomplishments throughout the year.

The PACE Wild Card Committee will then determine whether to grant this team entry into the NSC and return a decision to the team within seven days of receiving the application.

We have now had 46 teams fill out the form and 17 teams send at least a down payment. With a field cap at 72, we recommend registering in the next few weeks if you want to be certain to get in the field.

We have now had more than 72 teams fill out the form, but registration is still open because we have only received 44 down payments. If your team wants to play NSC, make sure we receive your down payment soon.
