NASAT and coronavirus

Post by AKKOLADE »

Hello everyone,

As we all know at this point, the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and its associated disease, COVID-19, is a major news story internationally. There’s a lot of concern about its impact, now and moving forward. It'd be wonderful to have definitive answers at this point, the situation is very fluid.

NASAT is relatively fortunate compared to HSNCT and NSC in that it has more flexibility with its host and is scheduled several weeks later than those two tournaments. Since we have almost three and a half months until the tournament is scheduled to happen (June 20 & 21), we feel the best plan at this point is to wait and see what happens.

If NASAT is canceled by the time you have paid your entry fee, you will be fully refunded your fee. I would suggest being conservative with booking hotel rooms and travel at this time, and to be sure to check cancellation policies for any hotels or airlines you do contact.

The co-owners of International Quiz Bowl Tournaments are both health care professionals. Our priority is the health of potential attendees, whether they be staff, competitors, coaches, chaperones, or spectators. Future decisions we make concerning the status of 2020 NASAT will be made with the public’s health as the top priority.

If you have further questions, you may contact me at [email protected].
