Sponsoring an NSC Round

Post by Mike Bentley »

PACE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to promoting high school quizbowl. Each year PACE runs a prominent national championship tournament, hosts online resources like hsquizbowl.org, provides funds for quizbowl outreach, offers quizbowl scholarships and more. We rely on community support from people like you to help fund these initiatives.

We're excited to announce a new way for the community to support PACE. Individuals can now sponsor a round in the 2019 NSC. In exchange for a donation, your name will be listed in the packet as the round's official sponsor. It will be read aloud to teams by moderators playing the match and included in the packets posted after the tournament. All sponsors will also be listed in the NSC program and on PACE's website.

For the 2019 NSC, you can become a sponsor of one of our 18 regular rounds through a donation of $100 or more. You can become a sponsor of our finals or all star game for a donation of $500 or more. To make this donation, please contact our treasurer Mike Bentley at [email protected].

Please note that all sponsorships must first be approved by PACE. Round sponsors will not receive a copy of the questions ahead of time and no other special privileges will be granted to sponsors. People playing in the 2019 NSC are ineligible to sponsor a round, although former players, coaches and parents are eligible.

If you would like to donate to PACE apart from this program, please see this page. Or contact us at [email protected].

Are people affiliated with PACE eligible to sponsor?

That's a good question. We'll evaluate that on a case-by-case basis.

Did PACE ever decide on answer to my original question, that is, are people connected to PACE able to sponsor (i.e., I am a contributor to the NSC sets and an occasional staffer--can I sponsor?)

Whoops, sorry for not replying to this earlier. We're evaluating sponsorships on a case-by-case basis, but in general we're accepting sponsorships from individuals that have connections to PACE and/or other quizbowl organizations.

Today is the last call for sponsoring a round. We still have a few spots left if you want to help out PACE in this way.
