Is this going to remain a doubles tournament or will it be switched to triples like the ICT tournament was?

Given the current # of participants it seems unlikely that it'll get moved to be triples

Doubles/triples will depend on how many people want to play, and how many staff I have. :)

Right now, the Saturday afternoon session is scheduled to end at 7:30, so to give people a chance to change/grab food, and account for the possibility that the HSNCT rounds run late, we're going to meet at 8:45pm in the A700 rooms area. This is the suite of meeting rooms that is straight past the place where you turn left to go to the Peachtree Center Food Court.

I'll post here if this plan changes between now and Saturday night.

Thanks for coming out to play on Saturday night, everyone! And also, thanks for bearing with us as we sorted through a room move and some technical difficulties at the beginning of the event.

I hope you all really enjoyed the set. If you're interested in talking about it, please go ahead and apply to the discussion forum, and I'll get you approved.

I plan to read this online sometime in the next couple of weeks, for people who were not at ICT or HSNCT and want to hear it. I'll get a specific date posted soon. After, that, I'll be uploading the set to the archive. :)

Err--there are still side events that would potentially like this to run (i.e. NYC Open, if it does happen). Sorry for not pinging you, but I didn't realize you were going to release so soon.

Is there any chance you could hold off releasing until later in the summer, or would you definitely like to release it? (Similarly, it would be cool if the online reading could be channel-gated, but that's not really as important.)

(I should know by next week what events NYC Open will be running, so this may be moot as well. But the voting is looking promising for GOLBEZ...)

I didn’t know other people were planning mirrors, but I am happy to hold off posting the set until they happen! :) Keep me posted on plans; I’ll be happy to provide the packets.

I’ll create a private Discord server for the reading on Wednesday.

I... didn't play this, and don't know of any other Conors in quizbowl who spell their name the way I do, so you've either misspelt someone's name or you're mistaken about someone's Discord handle. Or there's another Conor I don't know about, which is also a possibility.

Yeah that's a typo; it was Connor Teevens.

Thanks for hosting and writing the set, Jason! It was a lot of fun to play and to learn about video gaming history at the same time.

This was a really great set. I think the Final Boss questions ended up being...as advertised (lol), but I really appreciated the lip service paid to both classic and modern gaming throughout. Well, OK, there was a decent chunk of JRPG content, but we were warned :P

There's a chance we may do GOLBEZ as a trivia night with the local game dev community where I live, which is why I haven't posted it yet. That said, PM me an email address that's good for you and I'll send you a Google Drive link to the packets. :)
