"I shall clasp my hands together and bow to the corners of the world." -Barry Hughart, Bridge of Birds (circa 1984)
Greetings!
It is with great pleasure that I announce the YANKOVIC* Young Adult Fiction Tournament. It is a 24/24 single packet, with most set content being young adult fiction (henceforth referred to as YAF) from all time periods, from recent works to early publications as well. I am the primary writer, with some contributions from Jamie Faeder and Caroline Mao. This is the (non-standard) distro planned:
High Fantasy YAF: 6/6
YAF Works with Love Triangles/Featuring Romance as a primary plot: 3/3
Historical YAF: 4/1
Popular Series: 3/3
Poetry: 2/2
Children's Literature: 2/1
Detective/Spy Fiction: 2/1
Fairytales in YAF: 1/1
Trash Featuring YAF: 1/6 (All bonuses will be primarily from literature, but are classified here because of one or more part being non-literature)

For those interested, here is the link to registration: (The set is almost complete and should be played in the next one week!)

I hope that you register and enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

*The acronym stands for Young Adult Novel Knowledge Open Victoriously Idolizing Champions, and unfortunately is not affiliated with the polka-loving musician in any way.

This sounds like a lot of fun! Do you have an idea of what the format will be (e.g. doubles)?

Currently, I'm planning singles, but if we cross approximately 16 registrations, I guess having doubles would be better. We'll wait till the end of the week and see how the sign-ups go!

Just a suggestion: if you put a lot of good effort into this packet, I don't think everyone playing in one discord room is the proper setting. Even if it's eight teams of two, the odds of every tossup being firstlined with most coming from buzzer races are incredibly high.

UPDATE: I'm planning to host this as a 2-room competition, with the 14-16 players divided into teams of 2 and each team going to one room, making a maximum of 4 teams per room. Noah Sheidlower and Arjav Rawal have agreed to be moderators for this.
Players, would you be okay with the tournament held on this coming Tuesday?

I think if you just post the info in the clearing house packets thread, you'll have better luck. You're not going to find a date that works for all, so you should just set a date and time (or two) and stick to it.
