CATT 2020 housewrite (HS Regs+/Nats-) Available for Mirrors until End of 2020-2021 Season

Post by Jasonl33 »

The Chattahoochee High School Quizbowl team is excited to announce CATT, a HS Regs +/Nats - level housewrite for the 2020-2021 season. This is effectively a revival of the old CATT housewrite that discontinued after 2012.

The set will be written by current and past members of the Hooch Quizbowl team. Editors as of now include: Harrison Zhu (Georgia Tech), Andy Luo (Brown), Mihir Paramesh (Georgia Tech), Michael Li (Brown), Sanjeev Uppaluri (Cornell), and Kevin Huang (Harvard).
Update: Jacob O'Rourke has joined the set as Head Editor.

The distribution follows that of last year’s BLAST:
4/4 Science (1/1 Physics, 1/1 Chemistry, 1/1 Biology, .5/.5 Mathematics, .5/.5 Other Science)
4/4 History (1/1 American, 1/1 European/British, 1.5/1.5 World/Commonwealth, .5/.5 Ancient/Other)
4/4 Literature (1.5/1.5 Long Fiction, 1/1 Non-Epic Poetry, .75/.75 Drama, .75/.75 Short Fiction/Other)
3/3 Fine Arts (1/1 Visual, 1/1 Auditory, 1/1 Other)
3/3 RMPSS (0.75/0.75 Religion, 0.75/0.75 Mythology, 0.75/0.75 Philosophy, 0.75/0.75 Social Science)
2/2 Other (1/1 Geography, 0.75/0.75 Current Events, 0.25/0.25 Miscellaneous)

Update: Mirrors
The mirror fee will be $10 per team. We are currently accepting mirror requests from any circuits. Feel free to email [email protected] or [email protected] with any questions.

It's great that newer sets are being created, but I earnestly suggest that, if CATT still does not have a head editor and is just starting to be written, this set be merged with another or held off on until next year.

Refer to Arthur's post for other reasons why: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=24181

CATT 2020 will remain available to mirror until the end of the 2020-2021 season.

We are tentatively planning to host an online, open mirror (chimeras and any players who haven’t already played are eligible) of the set some time in April, once all other mirrors of the set are complete.
