Louisville (KY) Spring Academic Tournament (April 8, 2018)

Post by Rococo A Go Go »

The University of Louisville will host the Louisville Spring Academic Tournament (LSAT) on Sunday, April 8. LSAT will be directed by Nick Conder with assistance from members and alumni of the UofL Quiz Bowl team. LSAT is open to all high school teams, and UofL has welcomed teams from all over Kentucky and Southern Indiana at previous events. We will be using NAQT IS-172, with standard untimed NAQT rules and 20 tossup games. Teams will be guaranteed at least 8 games, with both preliminary and playoff rounds in a format similar to previous tournaments at UofL. The tournament will be affiliated with the KQBA Goldenrod Cup, and teams that finish in the top 15% will qualify for the NAQT HSNCT.

Fee Schedule
Entry Fee: $70
Buzzer Discount: -$10
Moderator Discount: -$10
Minimum Fee: $40 per team.

Registration
We will be using the NAQT Registration system. Beginning on February 22nd, teams can register here.

Logistics
LSAT will be hosted in the Bingham Humanities Building, which is the same location used for previous tournaments at UofL. Registration will take place from 8:00 AM-8:45 AM (EDT) and the first round will start by 9:00 AM. Lunch will take place at a logical stopping point near the middle of the day, and teams will be provided directions to nearby dining establishments. The tournament should conclude no later than 6 PM. Awards will be granted to the top three teams and the top ten individual scorers. Parking information will be emailed to teams in early April.

Payment
Payment should be made out to the University of Louisville and sent to:

University of Louisville
College of Arts and Sciences - Gardiner Hall
Louisville, KY 40292

Stat reports can be found on the tourament page here. Note that in the combined stats, the teams are not listed by order of finish - the correct order of finish can be found by looking at the stat report for Playoffs.
