Triton Spring X "@" UCSD [5-22-2021]

Post by Arras Agility »

The UCSD Quizbowl team is excited to announce that we will host Triton Spring X online on Saturday, May 22, 2021!

This will be a high school tournament with a single division using the BHSAT XXX set. This tournament will be co-TDed between myself and Jack Kim.

Eligibility:
The tournament is only open to Southern California high school teams. "Southern California schools" are those which are physically located or (if an online school) based in the ten southernmost California counties. "High schools" are defined according to NAQT eligibility rules. You can check statistics for eligibility purposes here.

Teams of more than six players will not be accepted.

Pricing:
New schools (schools that did not play a tournament in the 2019-2020 season) will pay a flat fee of $30 per team.
Returning schools will pay a base fee of $60 per team, with potential discounts.
There is a minimum fee of $30, after discounts, for each new or returning team.

Discounts:
-$10 per provided staff member properly equipped and capable of moderating and/or scorekeeping online.
-$10 per team that registers on or before May 1.

How to Register:
More logistics information will be provided closer to the date of the tournament to teams that have registered. To register (or if you have any questions), email us at [email protected] with:
1. How many teams you expect to bring (include a request for waitlisted teams)
2. Tentative rosters, if available
3. A contact email and phone number
4. Additional discounts
5. Final expected cost
Please include the name of the tournament as well as your school in the subject of your email ("<your school>'s registration for Triton Spring")

Registration Limits:
We will implement a soft field cap of 20 teams until we can confirm staffers. Returning schools will be limited to registering two teams each. Any additional teams they would like to register will be placed onto a waitlist, and allowed into the field as space allows in the week before the tournament. Teams that register

Due to lack of a sufficiently large field or interest in other teams from joining the field, we have unfortunately decided to cancel this tournament. We apologize to the interested teams and hope to see them at Triton Fall in the coming year. Good luck to those of the teams that are competing at national tournaments in the coming weeks!
