I'll shamelessly add here that OSU will hold our annual HSAPQ tournament on January 19th and if the Ohio calendar works out, will probably host some non-NAQT tournament in the spring. Rob Carson and Jerry are the two that come to mind first when I think about the best readers I've ever had, and Will Nediger, Matt Weiner, Andrew Hart and obviously R. Hentzel come to mind as well as being excellent.

High school quizbowl is already too hard, removing the canon would just make it all the more so. Canon is not a quizbowl-only concept, it's a real thing that exists to let us know what is truly important and impactful.
