About five people commented negatively on the 'Roman women' tossup and not a single one said that it was a bad question because it was negged often, and there was only a single mention of the question being negged at all, so perhaps people should stop characterizing the objections to the tossup as '...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Guerilla History Doubles (July 29 @ CO Weeknd)

Yeah, looking now this distribution seems way too rigid. I could explicate more but in the spirit of the ad-hoc nature of this event, and the experience level of the people signed up for this event, I would even go to the extreme and simply multiply the Chicago Open's 'distribution' by 5 to give peo...

I think both the Sinclair part and especially the Napoleon III could be acceptable medium parts. Yeah, that was the most annoying part for me as well. I don't care how hard the tournament is supposed to be, Bessie Head is not an easy part. Neither is Odilon Redon, or "This be the Verse" (especially when you don't give that poem's most famous line), or Witold Gombrowicz. Also, speaking...

Honestly, I found the tossups at this tournament to be a bit harder than last year's; some of the bonuses probably could have been buffed up a bit, but just as many probably should have been toned down. But like...this tournament is written for novices. The editors have made this very clear. It's c...

Perhaps it would be helpful to ask why people write questions over 8 lines. I don't get it myself, and Magin's reasoning perfectly coincides with mine, along with the fact that it wastes editing/writing time in an era of sloppy & late tournaments. So, to those of you who insist on writing long-a...
