Geez, I must be no-lifeing, but maybe it's because I'm still in middle school.
I study around 2-3 hours a day, one hour for quizbowl class, 40ish minutes on my bus ride to and from school, and around an hour at home, mostly using Quizlet Plus.

Re: Player tossup etiquette
On a similar topic, is bonus stalling allowed? As in, waiting to answer the bonus until asked by the moderator to prevent a comeback from the other team. I would only recommend for close matches, when there's less than a 200 point margin. I personally find it rude/insulting if your trying to stall ...

Re: The State of Good Quizbowl, State-by-State
I'm glad to see Alabama given such a high rating. I agree with nearly all of it. As you go further down, it gets harder to find to find schools participating. South of Birmingham and Montgomery, I can't think of any schools who participate, except for Baldwin. For middle school, there was basically...

As a your teammate, I will say this:
Frankly, if you're going to expand, you can't get annoyed that other people might.

Re: Alabama 2018-2019
Just a heads up,(correct me if I'm wrong) most likely either Liberty or Arab will host a MS "fun" tournament sometime in the fall. That's all the information I have. Also, I hate to post this again, but is anybody interested in making a middle school raking(I saw what Mr. Rutsky posted, so...

Since there has been a high school one, is anybody interested in doing a middle school ranking?
Or perhaps staring a new thread?(Alabama 2018-2019)

How to Maximize Studying Output?
At my school, I'm lucky enough to have quiz bowl as a daily class as opposed to an after school club. That means I get and hour and 15 minutes everyday to practice. However, I feel like this year, I should try practicing a bit differently. Last year, I typically went in and just answered tossups. So...

Re: Your Worst Moment In Quizbowl
I accidentally said "total-la-ri-an-ism" instead of "to-ta-la-tar-rian-ism" while giving the answer to a bonus, which I quickly corrected myself on before the reader acknowledged me(which was allowed that tournament). They initially accepted it, but the other team protested becau...

Re: New Mobile App -- Tycho: Play Quizbowl and Science Bowl
So I downloaded the app, and when I buzz on a question, nothing happens except the timer starts counting down.
Is that it? I was thinking you were supposed to type your answer or something like that.

To expand or not to expand?
I'm new to this place, so sorry if I say anything stupid. I'm a rising eighth grader who started quiz bowl last school year. I would consider myself at least a decent history player, at least compared to others in my state. However, I feel like I haven't been contributing much to my team. I get arou...
