Re: Alabama 2016-2017

Speaking of Spring tournaments... Good Hope is still hoping to run a tournament again this year in the early Spring, and I've agreed to help organize/run it. Do the players/coaches who frequent this board have a personal preference in Spring dates? February 4th is probably a no-go for me since that...

Raynor, if there's one place I'd make a comment on this set, besides that there were several duplicated bonuses and more than a few awkward sentences that seemed like editing issues, it would be that this might well be the toughest HS packet for converting 30 on the bonus that I've read in several y...

So this is a very limited use feature that I'd love to see implemented at some point, but one thing that always made SQBS handy for me was that it allowed you to hold scrimmages using flexible teams and still compile data. Since you only get a "team playing itself" notice, not a hard stop ...

Just as an addendum, Hoover switched this year away from NAQT for our major tournament SPECIFICALLY because of this issue. Many coaches, who are your TD core, are intimidated enough by the giant mess of regulations involved in being a coach for a team and...

Re: Idealized QB software - what would it look like?

What's so great about SQBS? I would have classified it as adequate for most tournaments (but just barely), and woefully inadequate for many (large ones, ones using less common formats, etc.). I think the natural way to address your goal would also involve replacing SQBS. Jim Puls has already done a...

Idealized QB software - what would it look like?

I am in the early stages of trying to sketch out an ideal program for QB work. Here are the basic premises I'm starting from: 1) SQBS is awesome, and there isn't a lot of reason to try to replicate what it does well. Therefore, the main purpose of this software would be to handle two areas that I do...
